Dear Precious One,

I am writing you this letter to express to you God’s love for you. I understand where you are and what you are going through. I have walked and worked in your shoes. For 7 years I was in and out of the sex industry. I know the need & desire you have to be financially independent, mentally & physically secure and the hopeless feeling of being trapped in the business.

I am fully aware of the shame and embarrassment this business brings to you and your family, as well as the discouragement of people telling you that you will never be anything but a stripper. I am familiar with the feeling of being trapped and enduring each week to make ends meet and how you have to psych yourself up to go back. I know about struggling with your sexual identity, as well as, the destructive behavior patterns that follow the industry.

I know what it is like to have to get as high as you can to go to work and to risk getting fired to keep the high during work. The need for those drinks to numb your conscience and true feelings to be able to ‘get into the job’. I recall vividly the rejection and rudeness of customers that make you feel like you are nothing but a piece of meat and less than human.

I also know the excitement of counting the money @ the end of the night, holding your head up and rationalizing that it is all worth it. Buying expensive clothes, driving nice vehicles and eating out on a regular basis. It’s all coupled with the nights that you didn’t make the money and leave disappointed and hurt that you had subjected yourself to it all over again with nothing but a feeling of uncleanness and disgust that you take home with you.

I know how it feels to think that that one ‘nice’ guy may be the man that will genuinely care for you and help you get out of the business once and for all. How you dream of your knight in shining armor to come carry you away like the scenes of "An Officer and a Gentlemen" or "Pretty Woman". Then the disappointment as they try to persuade you to come to their hotel room and the realization that all they want is your body sexually and really don’t care about you for any other reason. The belief that you will can never trust anyone because they are all out to use you and discard you like trash.

I know what it’s like to have to use make up to cover the bruises on my body received from an abusive relationship that I endured in because he was the ‘only one that really loved me’. What it's like to give sex in hopes of receiving love. The push and pull with your spirit and soul knowing instinctively that there had to be someone better for you, but feeling as if there was no possible way for you to do any better. The feeling of being trapped that you have after you have decided to quit and you have to return to the business because other jobs don’t pay you what you need to support yourself and family. I also know what it is like to want to hide your past and profession and the fear of someone finding out what you have done or do for a living while desperately trying to make it in the real world.

My friend, there is only one way out of this captivity, and it is through the power of the God of the universe and His son, Jesus Christ. He loves you with a love that you desire and long for that no one and nothing else has or can fill you with. He wants you to be free from this destructive lifestyle and He has provided everything you need to do this. He’s already paid the price for you to have this freedom. What you have to do is simply believe, trust and obey Him and He will set you free. He will give you the desires of your heart and carry you through every circumstance in your life with victory, IF you allow him to. He won’t force himself on you and He is always there for you, waiting for you to open the door and allow Him to come into your life.

Don’t be overwhelmed by all the cleaning up you feel you need to do. He will do that for you one step @ a time and He loves and ACCEPTS YOU JUST AS YOU ARE. He will work out all the details on a day to day basis. What is important today is that you believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God and that He died for your sins. I encourage you to ask Him to forgive you of your sins and to come into your heart. Ask Him to help you to allow Him to be Lord of your life and fill you with His Holy Spirit. I guarantee if you pray that prayer, that simple prayer, He will change you life forever. I am a living proof of His grace, mercy and power to take ashes and turn them to beauty. He will do the same for you.
